GREENACRES – Michael Liriano is a force to be reckoned with on the field – primarily on the defensive side of the ball.
As a junior at Palm Beach Christian Prep, the ‘25 ATH posted the following statistics:
•65+ total tackles
•5 tackles for loss
•1 sack
•2 first down runs
Liriano’s best game for the Palm Beach Christian Prep Saints was in Week 7 against SmartEn Sports Academy, which resulted in a 20-0 win. His statistics from that one were:
•6 solo tackles
•4 assist tackles
•10 total tackles
•2 quarterback hurries
The 5-foot-6, 170-pound junior, who transferred from Seminole Ridge after his sophomore year, reflected on this past season at Palm Beach Christian Prep (3-5 final record).
“It was a productive season,” Liriano said. “The environment, practices, game plans, and momentum all developed our team through each adversity we had and made us a great team in the end.”
Liriano – who is from Belle Glade – was quite happy to have been guided by Palm Beach Christian Prep head coach, fellow Muck native and Glades Central alum Eddie Poole – who is from South Bay.
“He’s a great coach and a great teacher,” Liriano said. “Him being from the Muck didn’t make me feel like a stranger on the team, and he would always emphasis hard work and grit in every practice and rep we took that then translated to the game. He also was a former Bethune-Cookman receiver, which helped out in coaching our young group on offense and sharing tips and breaking down film to fit their playing style.”
At this time, Liriano (3.1 grade point average) has garnered interest from the likes of the University of Pennsylvania, Brown University, and Alabama A&M. He shared a bit on what his offseason aspirations are.
“My main goal for the offseason is to rebuild and come back as a better athlete than last year,” Liriano said. “I have been working with speed trainer Sweat NBS and running backs coach Jamaal Hunte from Delray to get me at the best possible position for next year. I want to put myself on notice and my team as we face the 2024-2025 season.”
